Our Story
A Local Favorite Since 1978
Gulfstream Restaurant was “born and raised” as a local, family tradition by Spiro and Joanne Simotas who nurtured it into a classic spot highly regarded for its food, affordability and friendly atmosphere. Now in its 48th year, Gulfstream is still locally owned and operated by Kure Beach resident and long-term restauranteur Ed Thomas and his team of amazing support staff.
The landmark restaurant continues to serve great food at affordable prices to locals and vacationers from all the communities of Pleasure Island: Carolina Beach, Kure Beach and Ft Fisher.
Whether you come for breakfast, lunch, or dinner – there are always familiar faces to greet and serve you and menu items that include your favorites as well as daily specials and classic Calabash style seafood platters.
The entire staff looks forward to continuing the Gulfstream tradition of providing a family-friendly restaurant that all the locals and visitors to Wilmington and surrounding areas can enjoy.
